He organizes TEDxWilmington events, directs the StartUp Grind Wilmington chapter, and founded Maverick Class, an edutainment company. His contributions have been recognized with accolades like Technical.ly Delaware's Culture Builder of the Year and Delaware Business Times' Small Business Advocate of the Year finalist.
Dr. Young's commitment to education is rooted in a rich family legacy of academic achievement. His grandfather was Delaware's first Black school principal, and his parents also held significant roles in education and business. This heritage has inspired his personal mission to recruit, train, mentor, and place 100 new Black business professors in Delaware colleges and universities by 2025.
